Podere Grotta Antica is the place where Sonia and Alessio decided to change their lives — leaving the noise and pace of the city to reconnect with nature, silence, and the rhythm of the seasons.
In the heart of the Val di Chiana, a beautifully restored 17th-century farmhouse now welcomes travellers seeking authenticity.
The restoration preserved its soul: wooden beams, ancient stones, and soft afternoon light still tell the story of time passing slowly.
Beside the house lies the ancient cave that gives the Podere its name — a reminder of the history that runs deep beneath these hills.
From this harmony of past and present, a small family-run farmhouse was born, with three guest rooms and an independent apartment, each designed to make every visitor feel part of something real.

We welcome a limited number of guests, because we believe that true hospitality means creating a personal connection and crafting every stay around the people who live it.
At Podere Grotta Antica, there are no formalities — only warm smiles, honest conversations, and dinners cooked slowly with local ingredients and passion.
The atmosphere is intimate and family-like, yet always discreet.
We personally curate all the experiences: private dinners, wine tastings, e-bike tours, and horseback rides through the hills — each designed to make your stay unforgettable.

Our philosophy of hospitality
We chose to live here because this is where we truly feel alive — and that feeling is what we wish to share.
Every room carries a custom-made fragrance, every breakfast is prepared with fresh local ingredients, and every sunset reminds us to slow down.
We believe hospitality is made of small gestures, quiet care, and authentic presence.
That’s why we prefer to dedicate our time to our guests — to listen, to advise, or simply to share a glass of wine together as the light fades behind the olive trees.

Where we are
We’re in Chiusi (Siena), between the Val di Chiana and the Val d’Orcia, perfectly located to explore Tuscany and Umbria.
From here you can easily reach Montepulciano, Pienza, San Quirico d’Orcia, or Lake Trasimeno.
Yet most guests soon realise that they don’t need to go far: sometimes the best place to be is right here — under an olive tree, watching the sun disappear behind the hills.
