🌿 Our story

Nel In 2024, we opened the doors of Podere Grotta Antica,
a 17th-century farmhouse that we have carefully renovated, respecting its ancient soul and adding those details that make all the difference.

It wasn't just a restoration project: it was turning a dream into reality. The dream of living surrounded by nature, of sharing the beauty of this area, of welcoming guests not as customers but as friends returning home.

We are Alessio and Sonia.
We live here, surrounded by olive trees and sunsets.

Alessio knows every corner of Tuscany — he has explored villages, restaurants and wineries, creating 23 itineraries that showcase the real region.
Every morning, Sonia prepares breakfast, which guests describe as “the best they have ever tasted”: cakes, bread and yoghurt made by hand with fresh ingredients.

This is not a hotel.
It is our home, open to those seeking something authentic: a place to slow down, breathe and feel welcome.

Where Tuscany is not just a landscape but real life, made up of small gestures, scents, silences and encounters.

Exceptional breakfast while enjoying an enchanting view from the breakfast room windows. Sonia's homemade cakes and biscuits come in a variety of flavours to suit every taste and seem as if they have just come out of a bakery. We enjoyed excellent jams with turmeric bread and flax seeds. Alessio's cappuccino was really good. Sonia, Alessio and Kevin were very welcoming, friendly and pleasant.

Farmhouse run by Alessio and Sonia, wonderful people who love their work and do everything they can to make you feel at home. My partner and I stayed for two nights in the farmer's room, where nothing was lacking. ❓ Frequently asked questions

🐾 Do you accept pets?
Yes, we are happy to welcome your small four-legged friends. We ask for a small supplement of £10 for extra cleaning and kindly request that you keep them on a leash in the common areas out of respect for other guests. Bring their bed so they feel at home too! We recommend that you write to us before booking to confirm availability.

🔄 Can I change my booking?
Of course! Up to 7 days before your arrival, you can change your dates free of charge, subject to availability. Simply contact us via WhatsApp (+39 351 423 2376) or email (info@poderegrottantica.it) and we will do our best to accommodate you. We are always very flexible with direct bookings.

🕐 What are the quiet hours?
To ensure all guests have a peaceful rest, we ask that you keep quiet from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The Jacuzzi SPA can be used until 10:00 pm. We know you are here to relax, and the silence of the Tuscan countryside is part of the magic of the place!

🅿️ Is there parking?
Yes, we have free parking on site for all our guests. You can leave your car there and enjoy your stay without any worries.

📶 Is there WiFi?
Yes, there is free, fast WiFi in the rooms and common areas. However, we recommend that you disconnect from time to time to truly enjoy the beauty that surrounds you! We will give you the password upon arrival.

🍳 Is breakfast included?
Yes, breakfast is included for guests staying in the three rooms in the main farmhouse. Every morning, Sonia prepares homemade cakes, biscuits, bread and yoghurt using fresh ingredients. Breakfast is served in the garden gazebo when the weather permits, or in the dining room with a view of the garden if it rains. For guests staying in the Barn, breakfast is available on request for a small supplement.

♨️ How does the Jacuzzi work?
The Jacuzzi SPA can accommodate up to 4 people and is heated, shared among all guests. It is available from April to October from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Upon arrival, we will give you all the information you need on how to use it and the best times to do so. We recommend sunset: immersing yourself in the warm water while watching the sun go down over the hills is an unforgettable experience.

👶 Do you accept children?
Absolutely, children are welcome! We have cots available for an additional €10. The garden is safe and spacious, perfect for them to play in. Many of our itineraries are also suitable for families, such as the Labyrinth of Porsenna in Chiusi (only 2 km away!), which children love.

🚬 Is smoking permitted?
Smoking is only permitted outdoors in the garden. Smoking is strictly prohibited in the rooms, in the Barn and in all indoor common areas out of respect for the property and other guests.
